10-day Chuseok holiday as ‘Culture and Travel Week’ – Enjoy some Freebies!

You can enjoy cultural discounts during the 10-day Chuseok holiday season.

The government has decided to offer this holiday season as a ‘Culture and Travel Week‘, providing cheaper and more enjoyable experiences.

For ten days from 30th to October 9th, △ Gyeongbok Palace △ Changdeok Palace △ Changgyeong Palace △ Deoksugung Palace can enter for free. Jongmyo and Joseon royal tombs are also free.

The National Museum of Contemporary Art Seoul, Gwacheon and Deoksugung Pavilion will open for free until October 4th. But the Seoul Pavilion is closed on the 4th. Also, the exhibition hall of the National Science Museum will receive an admission fee at a 50% discount from October 2 to 9. The day of Chuseok is closed.

You can enjoy the free performances of the National Center for Korean Traditional Performing Arts throughout the Golden Holidays, and special performances and experience events are held at the National Museum. The National Maritime Museum and the Biological Resource Center will also hold events from October 3 to 6.

If you want to watch a movie for a long holiday, October 2 is appropriate. △ CGV △ Megabox △ Lotte Cinema will apply the weekday charge on the 2nd public holiday, not the holiday charge.

If you are a foreigner, it is good to find amusement parks during this holiday season. Everland and Caribbean Bay will offer a 50% discount on foreigners’ admission to Korea from September 29th to October 15th, when the holiday season begins. Gyeongju World is 30% cheaper. Seoul Land offers free passes to everyone at a 40% discount.

If you want to get away from the city center and relax in nature, the National Recreational Forest is also a good place. Entrance fees for 42 national recreational forests nationwide are exempted from September 30 to October 9. 32 parks in National Park are 20% discounted on the facility fee.

36 farm villages offer up to 30% discount on experience and 20 villages with 20 fishing villages.

If you are worried about parking during your trip, you can use the public parking lot. From September 30 to October 9, the government will open the public parking lot of the municipalities, parking lots of government offices and public institutions for free. The government calculated that about 1.14 million parking lots would be eligible for free parking.
