Korea Fall Season Tour - NAEJANGSAN 01

The first foliage for ‘Autumn 2018’ is expected to meet at Mt. Seoraksan on the 27th September.

The ‘Kweather’, a private meteorologist, predicted that the first autumn foliage of this year will start from Mt. Seolaksan on the 27th, and the middle part will start in mid-October and the southern part such as Mt. Mudeungsan will start in late October. The foliage is expected to spread South average 20-25 kilometers per day.

Accordingly, Autumn leaves will start from Oct. 2 to 12 at Mt. Odaesan, Mt. Jirisan and Mt. Woelaksan, from Oct. 15 to 19 at Mt. Bukhansan, Mt. Gyeryongsan and Mt. Palgongsan, Mt. Mudeungsan and the southern region will start the autumn foliage from October 24th.

The peak time of the foliage is expected to be October 24th and 28th in the northern part of Gyeongbuk and middle and southern part of Korea respectively. It is observed that the peak of the foliage, which usually cover more than 80% of the mountains, appears two weeks after the first foliage, and the peak time of the foliage is about one to four days late due to the higher temperature than normal this year.
