2018 Winter Wonderland and NAMI ISLAND

Nami Island’s idea, which utilizes the cold snap that is going down by more than minus 10 degrees, is already popular among domestic and foreign tourists who visit Nami Island in winter. From icebreaker crossing the frozen river to a mysterious ice wall photo zone, the event is full of more special events this winter.

Notably, the ‘2018 Winter Wonderland and NAMI ISLAND’ will be held to enjoy various performances and experiences centering on the main event venue of the island.

Nami Island is creating a full-scale winter atmosphere to give more special memories to both domestic and foreign tourists.

A warm Christmas tree is all the more ripe with colorful lights covering the sky over wooden structures at Nami Naaru Square at the island. At the entrance of Nami Island, a huge ice wall will be constructed reminiscent of the winter kingdom, and “Daebak Na-gil” next to the General Nami’s Tomb will be lit after the shape of gourd in hopes of the customers’ success.

In addition, snow sculptures and luminarie are installed on Jungang pine road, while making a snowman using rice straw to create a photo zone. In addition, an artificial maple leaf will be placed on the “Solo ginkgo tree” located in Baepungmilowon, a famous place for pictures in autumn, to create a special place for visitors to experience the spirit of autumn in the new white snow garden.

If you visit Nami Island with your children, you should pay attention to the event zone that you should not miss. They attract family tourists including snow mummies, giant polar bear dolls, and Make-a-wish Tree, which writes wishes on Christmas trees.

“Snow Event Zone,” which is available to all men and women of all ages, will have a sledding ground that can feel the excitement of the slope length of about 40 meters, 7 meters high, and 10 degrees of incline angle and the walls of the slope will be used as a stage where you can see the ice performance along with an exhibition of ice sculpture. Also, they will prepare snowball makers to enjoy snowball fights, to find a place to indulge in childhood, and to make your own snowman using snow shovel and snow.

The Ice Zone is also equipped with a 15-meter-high ice slide connected to the side of the sledding slope, a mini-curling rink where children can enjoy curling stones and ice bobsleigh.

In order to provide finger food that cannot be missed by the festival, a new Food Booth is installed to enable visitors to enjoy street food on Nami Island. Next to the event zone, air-dome will be installed to sell street foods such as fish cakes, hot dogs, and chicken skewers, and will also be prepared to meet Nami Island brand products. There will also be a special event to enjoy eating and stamp out souvenirs.

You can also see special winter performances that will further enhance the atmosphere of the winter festival. The “Ice Nanta and the Performance” of the Korean Traditional Music Orchestra, which will be introduced for the first time this year, and “Ice Performance” by Lee Won-taek, who achieved the record of 1,000 users last year, will be held at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
