2019 Changwon K-pop World Festival – TXT, ITZY, Red Velvet, Monsta X, Momoland, The Boyz

“2019 Changwon K-pop World Festival,” the largest K-pop festival in the world, will be held at Changwon Sports Complex on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. It will be co-hosted by KBS, the Foreign Ministry and the Overseas Culture and Information Service and sponsored by the Changwon municipal government, Kyongnam Bank and the Korea Tourism Organization.

The Changwon K-pop World Festival, the ninth of its kind this year, has become popular around the world over the years. In particular, the preliminary round was so fierce this year that 110 regions from 80 countries held global auditions, setting a record of “the most participation in the country.”

BTS’ DNA performance at 2017 Changwon K-pop World Festival

A total of 13 teams from 13 countries, including Cambodia and Kazakhstan, Australia, Cuba, the United States and Germany and Singapore, will participate in the Korean finals after two rounds of expert reviews of the top teams in each country, and present colorful performances. The 13 teams will enter South Korea on September 30 and will compete in the finals after meeting a variety of schedules, including surprise meetings with K-pop stars and experiencing traditional Korean culture for 12 nights and 13 days.

This year’s festival will also feature a large number of K-pop artists representing Korea, boosting the mood to a colorful stage. K-pop stars such as Red Velvet, Monsta X, Momoland, The Boyz, TXT, and ITZY will be in full attendance.

Also worthy of its status as the world’s largest K-pop festival, broadcaster Lee Hwi-jae, ITZY’s Lia and rapper Din Din will join as co-chairs to lead the best performance.

Meanwhile, the “2019 Changwon K-pop World Festival” will be broadcast live on KBS official Social Media Live, later on Saturday, Nov. 2, and the main broadcast will be broadcast on KBS 2TV on Friday, Nov. 8, and broadcast worldwide on KBS WORLD TV as well as KBS 2TV, a Korean-born channel KBS World.
