The Dream Concert, hosted and directed by the Korea Entertainment Producers Association, started on May 13, 1995 as a special feature for teenagers who marked the 50th anniversary of Korea’s Independence Day, and has been performing for 25 consecutive years. Over the past 25 years, 1.46 million people from home and abroad have seen Dream Concert, featuring 505 teams of top K-pop singers.

The government recently announced the connection of the K-pop festival through its policy announcement in 2019 and the “Dream Concert” hosted by the Korea Entertainment Producers Association is discussing ways to boost tourism in Korea.

As such, “Dream Concert” has led to many changes in the culture of the Republic of Korea over the past 25 years, beyond the stage of simple artists. Moreover, it is difficult to find a precedent not only in Korea but also in the world as it is the longest-ever and largest-ever concert visited by an audience.

Kim Young-jin, chairman of the Korea Entertainment Producers Association, a division that hosts Dream Concert, said Thursday that he has come all the way from his first performance to now with the passion and efforts of association members and executives. “We will continue to make efforts to help the audience and artists become one together with more quality performances, and also to revitalize K-pop around the world,” he said.
