A ‘Mobile prayer room’ is created for Muslim tourists in Gangneung, Gangwon Province. On Jan. 8, the Korea Tourism Organization said it will run 2 mobile Muslim prayer rooms that have been renovated from the beginning of February in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, where the Winter Olympics are held. Inside the prayer room, there is a three-room room for washing hands and feet, a Koran, and a “Qibla” for the direction of Mecca.

In August 2017, Lotte Department Store set up a prayer room on the 6th floor of Avenue, Lotte World Mall, Songpa-gu, Seoul. “There are Muslim prayer rooms at major airports, KTX history, major tourist attractions such as Nami Island, Folk Village, and Everland”. The reason why the tourism industry is trying to improve facilities for Muslims is because there are many. According to reports, the Korea Tourism Organization expects Muslim tourists, who were 540,000 in 2012, to exceed 1 million by 2018.
