“Purple You,” made by V, a member of the group BTS, was born as the Galaxy S20 Plus BTS edition.
On the 6th, a video of BTS’ “Galaxy X BTS Edition Unboxing” was released on Samsung Electronics’ official YouTube channel. In the video, V, along with members J-Hope and Jungkook, introduced the purple Galaxy S20 Plus BTS edition with purple hearts on the back camera. In the unboxing video released, member J-Hope said, “Purple hearts became our symbol and came out as an edition. Taehyung, what do you think? You made it yourself. It must feel different,” he said. V said, “I don’t think I made it. “I think it was made by the ARMY because I came up with the idea by seeing ARMY holding a purple ARMY BOMB.”
In the scene of decorating a cell phone case, instead of using the stickers provided, he put his photo card in a transparent case and said, “If you like my pictures, do this,” showing various ways to decorate the phone case. Created by V with the meaning of “Let’s believe and love each other for a long time like the last color of the seven-colored rainbow,” “Borahae” has become a symbol of love and trust for BTS and fans.
UNICEF President Henrietta Fore once quoted the phrase “We here at UNICEF purple you!” and then the meaning shone, even more, making the landmarks of overseas countries visited by BTS a purple light as a welcome sign.
Recently, the front and third floors of the entrance to the Samsung Electronics store in Frankfurt, Germany, were decorated with the phrase “We Purple You” on a purple basis, making headlines. ‘Borahae’ is commonly used as a meaning of love and has become a symbol enough to be listed in the dictionary.
V is called the ‘cultural icon’ by creating a new cultural phenomenon with new perspectives and creative ideas. V’s impromptu “Borahae” has a positive influence on society and the entire business community beyond the fandom culture.
