“GD of the 90s” singer Yang Joon-il confirming the fan meeting 30 years after his debut, tickets for the fan meeting were sold out in the first three minutes of the opening.

Tickets for singer Yang Joon-il’s first fan meeting “Gift of Yang Joon-il,” which will be held at Sejong University’s Daeyang Hall on December 31, sold out as soon as it opened at 8 p.m. on December 20.

Hana Ticket, a booking site, stopped the server at 8:01 p.m. on the same day because of the heavy traffic of users. The site was later reopened, but the front seats were sold out in just three minutes. The number of tickets reserved for the day totaled 3,200, 1,600 seats each in the first and second chapters.

Yang Joon-il earlier returned home via Incheon International Airport at around 5 a.m. on December 20. He entered the airport secretly but was photographed by fans at around 7 a.m. on his way back home, which was known through fan site and other communities.

Meanwhile, Yang Joon-il, a Korean American, debuted in the music scene in 1991 by releasing his single album “Rebecca.” He hit ‘Rebecca’ and ‘Ga Na Da Ra Ma Ba Sa.’ However, after hiding his whereabouts in 1992, he moved to the U.S. and worked as a businessman.

Since then, Yang made a surprise comeback in 2000 under the name “V2.”

He appeared on season 3 of JTBC’s “Two Yoo Project: Sugar Man,” a show focusing on searching for old-time stars, and performed “Rebecca,” “Dance with Me Miss,” and “Fantasy” on stage.

Still slim in figure and soulful in his performance, he dazzled the audience and show hosts.

Yang Joon-il, in particular, is also called the “GD of the 90s” for his appearance and freedom that resemble G-Dragon.
