Singer-actress IU is continuing her charitable streak.

The star donated about 4,600 cooling vests ― together worth 100 million won ($84,000) ― for nurses at the frontline of COVID-19, according to the Korean Nurses Association, Monday. The association added that IU made the contribution through the charity organization Community Chest of Korea.

The vests will be sent to nurses at screening centers and medical institutions nationwide, who have been combating COVID-19 amid sweltering summer heat.

It is not the first time IU has donated for a good cause. In February, she contributed 1 million won to the Korean Medical Association and the Good Neighbors charity, respectively, to support the country’s virus fight. On Monday, Korea reported 248 new virus cases.

IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, made her singing debut in 2008 with the mini-album “Lost and Found” and released a string of hits including “Good Day” (2010) and “Palette” (2017). She also has been forging an acting career, starring in TV series including “Hotel del Luna” (2019).
