The winner of the Korea Smartphone Photo Contest sponsored by the Hankook Ilbo was decided on Nov 1. The subject was occupied by Lim Jung-hyun’s “Seongsan Ilchulbong”. It was in the background of Seongsan Ilchulbong in Jeju Island, and it was harmonized with the sunrise and waves through the crystal ball.
“I photographed using a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smart phone,” said Lim. “I walked into the sea to take a picture of the crystal ball.”
In the category of excellence, Son Hye Tae’s “Crescents and Stars”, Oh Kwon Yeol was in the landscape division, “Glow of Gyeongbokgung Palace”, in the category of animals “Catwalk” by Kim Ji Eun, and Jung Hong Gyu’s “Power Structure of Mysterious Electric Vehicle” as science category, Lee Mi Sun’s “Overcome the Ninth” as Snow App category.
The awards ceremony was held at headquarter’s of Hankook Ilbo on Sejong daero avenue in Seoul, and the prize money was awarded to the Grand Prize winner of 5 million and 1 million won for 5 excellence awards winners, respectively. A total of 13,121 works were exhibited during the competition, which lasted from September 20 to October 20.
