Korean food, Do you like it? (Manseon Hof, Gwanghwamun)

The Coronavirus has been prevalent, but Koreans seem to enjoy their summer these days. Summer has come in Korea and a cool night breeze is calling people outside. “Manseon Hof”, located in Euljiro, which is now really famous for both Koreans and foreigners, has been so full of visitors that there was no room to sit down.

The popularity of “Manseon Hof” has led them to open nearly 10 branches all located nearby. They put tables on walking roads and made people drink there enjoying the atmosphere of Euljiro. Or you can enjoy a summer night on a rooftop located at the top of the building. Of course, there are seats indoors, but the seats outside are crowded with people who want to enjoy the summer breeze of night and drink beer.

This outdoorsy bar/chicken restaurant is located at Euljiro-3ga station where a lot of big offices are located. So you can find so many people in suits who come to the bar to enjoy the night after work.

Take a look at the video if you want to feel the live atmosphere of Euljiro!

Seafood Tteokbokki

This place became famous because of the fact that you can drink beer outdoors, but the food they serve is quite good, too. Especially, garlic chicken is really famous and you can order only half of it, so if your stomach is full of beer, I recommend you to order half of it.

Garlic Chicken

The place I will introduce this time is a restaurant that I really, really, really like. It is located between Seodaemun Station and Gwanghwamun Station on Subway Line 5. It would be a good itinerary to have a meal after looking around the Seoul Museum of History which is located right next to the restaurant.

You can enjoy Korean style pork cutlet and a homemade meal. And you know what? It’s an all-you-can-eat restaurant! Even pork cutlets can be refilled. The crispy pork cutlet is covered with healthy sauce with tofu in it. If you want to get the sauce separately, they’ll do so if you ask.

It seemed that the son of the founder had succeeded and had been running the restaurant.

The best merit of this restaurant is that you can eat more if you want to eat. From Korean-style stew, rice, to side dishes filled with sincerity. Usually, when you go to an all-you-can-eat restaurant, the taste of the food can’t help but normal(at best), but the food here is really neat and delicious. Even if it’s not an all-you-can-eat restaurant, I’ll definitely go there to eat!

Especially, this soybean paste stew(된장찌개) tastes like my mom made it for me at home. Usually, when you eat Jjigae at Korean restaurants, the flavor is a bit too strong and stimulating because of artificial seasonings, but the stew here really feels like home-cooked meals.

The pork cutlet is served for two people when you order it for the first time. If you are a bit full for a re-fill, you can ask for only one serving. This restaurant is where the residents of the neighborhood come on weekends, and there is no seats because of the office workers during the daytime on weekdays.
