MICHELIN Guide Seoul has announced the new Bib Gourmand selection, ahead of the release of the MICHELIN Guide Seoul 2019 next week.
In 2019, the Bib Gourmand restaurant has retained the rest of its restaurants, except for two of the 48 introduced in the 2018 edition, including 4 “The Plate” selections and 11 new restaurants, totalling 61 restaurants selected for the new Bib Gourmand list in 2019.
Two new categories debuted in this year’s Bib selection, including gomtang, dwaeji-gukbap, Naengnyeon and Kal-guksu to Italian contemporary, Thai and Taiwanese. This year’s selection showcase some of Korea’s most beloved dishes as well as the growing diversity of Seoul’s dining scene.
Newly added in 2019, the dandan noodles’ restaurant name is Kumsan Noodle Factory. The dandan noodles are topped with a generous mix of Sichuan peppercorns, chili powder, black vinegar and chili oil. the chewy texture is the best.

Oreno Ramen of Shoyu Ramen boasts an attractive Toripitan with deep chicken broth and a tidy yet deep flavor. With a long-time accumulated know-how in the Ramen business, it has become a new Bib Gourmand with an authentic and popular taste.
Bib Gourmand, first introduced in the MICHELIN Guide in 1957, means a restaurant that offers excellent food at a resasonable price. The MICHELIN mascot Bibendum smacking its lips is a pictogram of Bib Gourmand.
Restaurants selected for the Bib Gourmand list offers food for under KRW 35,000, equivalent to 30 U.S.dollars.
