“Cold air from the north and strong winds will further reduce the temperature,” the KMA said. “We should pay attention to the management of facilities such as health care and the prevention of water pipes from the east.”

A cold wave watch and a cold wave warning will take effect at 10 p.m. on December 30 in most parts of the country.

Even on the first day of the new year (2020), the lowest temperature will be -10 to -1 degrees Celsius in the morning, and then it will be released in the afternoon. The daytime high is expected to be 1 to 9 degrees.

The 31st of December is mostly clear across the country, so you can see the sunset, but the Jeolla-do coast and Jeju-do Island are often cloudy, so you can see the sunset through low clouds.

On the first day of the new year, you can see the sunrise between low clouds in Jeolla-do and Jeju-do, while Yeongdong of Gangwon-do and Gyeongsang-do, where clear weather continues, can easily see new year’s sunrise.

Fine dust and ultrafine dust were forecast to be “good” for the whole nation on December 31 when the strong cold snap comes.
