On the coming Friday, the ‘Seoul Light Lantern Festival’, which allows visitors to enjoy the mood of autumn nights, will come to the citizens.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan City and the Organizing Committee of the Seoul Light Lantern Festival, the “2017 Seoul Light Lantern Festival” will be held in the Cheonggyecheon area from Friday, November 3.

The festival was held to pray for the successful hosting of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. The feast of light produced by hundreds of thousands of luminaries along the Cheonggyecheon Stream will entertain the eyes and hearts of Seoul citizens and visitors.

The Seoul Light Lantern Festival, held this year, will be held under three themes. ‘Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in Seoul,’ ‘Seoul, Korea and the World,’ and ‘Character and Art Artists’. At the entrance of Cheonggye Plaza, there will be a sculpture that depicts ski jump, alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, etc. in line with the theme of ‘PyeongChang Winter Olympics in Seoul.

‘Seoul, South Korea and the World’ exhibit will feature artifacts from around the world, including the remains of Amsadong in Gangdong-gu, Lee Sung-gye hunt in Seongdong-gu, Hanbok festival in Jongno-gu, and Taiwan Ochon in Qingdao, China.

In addition, for the children who have visited here, various characters such as Super wings, Tayo Bus, Robocar Poli, Clean Bear and Hello Carbot will be added.

The festival will be held every day from 5 pm to 11 pm at the Cheonggyecheon area from November 3 to 14 (end November 17), most importantly, admission is free.
