Sarah’s Korea Trip – High Up the N Seoul Tower

After resting at the hostel for an hour, off we go to our last stop on our first day exploring Seoul. Our hostel is near Chungmuro station so we just waited at the Exit 2 near Daehan Cinema for the bus that will take us to the N Seoul Tower. Just look for the Namsan Sunhwan Shuttle Bus No. 2 or 5.

The N Seoul Tower (also known as Namsan Tower or Seoul Tower) is a communication and observation tower located on Namsan Mountain. This is said to be the second highest point in Seoul. After alighting the bus, there is a bit of a hike up to go to the tower. We were so tired for the day but the beautiful scenery on our way up and the cool climate compensated for it.

Before we purchased tickets to go up the observatory, we decided to take a quick peek to see the area where the love locks are.

Then off we go to the observatory. We paid for 10,000 KRW for our tickets. There was a bit of a wait time since going up the main observatory are done by batches to also control the number of people. It gave us time to explore the tower and see what else we can do. There were some shops and restaurants where you can lounge while waiting. After around 30 minutes, our batch rode the elevator up to the observation deck. Since it was already nighttime when we were there, we were able to see a 360-degree view of Seoul with all the city lights glowing. The glass windows around the observatory are marked with major cities and countries and their average distance from the tower. There are binoculars available for a minimal fee should you wish to see more of the view up close.

We decided to call it an early night so that we can rest since we will have an early day the next day. We walked downhill back to the bus stop. Going back to our hostel, we waited for the shuttle bus again, but because of the number of tourists when we were there, the wait time for us to get on a bus was bit long. Plus it was already freezing when we left. Nevertheless, although it was a bit tiring, our day 1 was really fun! Stay tuned for my Day 2 posts as I looked back to our day trip to Gapyeong and Nami Island.
