Four celebrities including Shin Sye Kyung, Jang Do Yeon, Han Hyun Min and Cristian Burgos were commissioned as ‘2017 Hanbok PR Ambassador‘ to spread the beauty and value of Hanbok all over the world.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Ministry of Culture and Tourism) and Hanbok Promotion Center (President Choi Bong-hyun), who host a ‘2017 Hanbok Day’ as the “Hanbok Public Relations Ambassador” of the year. PyeongChang wishes the successful hosting of the Olympic Winter Games, and in order to spread the hanbok as a representative symbol of Korean culture to the whole world, this year’s PR Ambassador was selected for each field.
This year’s Hanbok Day event was held in line with the policy direction of enhancing global interest in Korean hanbok, which was centered on Korean drama and K-pop, and sharing empathy through cultural enjoyment. Particularly in order to promote the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games successfully, they organized the Olympic Photo Zone as well as the ‘Gyeongbokgung Palace Moonlight Hanbok Fashion Show’ to announce the meaning of ‘PyeongChang Culture Olympic’, and wearing Hanbok Olympic mascots Soohorang and Bandabi the opportunity to take a picture of a commemorative photo.
