A special sight of Korea’s 500 years old cultural heritage under a fascinating night sky will be available to visitors thanks to the “Special Evening Admission to Seoul’s Royal Palaces.”
The Cultural Heritage Administration announced that it will hold a special evening visit to Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changgyeonggung Palace from 28th April to November 3rd.
The special evening visit to the palaces was operated irregularly until last year, but this year 2018, it is regularly held in the 3rd to 4th week of the month.

The operation date was 58 days for Gyeongbokgung Palace last year and 61 days for Changgyeonggung Palace, but it has increased to 70 days this year. However, take note that Gyeongbokgung Palace will not be available for evening admissions on the 28th of this month since the court culture festival will be started on that day.
Special viewing hours are from 7 pm to 9:30 pm, and are delayed by 30 minutes during the summer season from June to August, and you can walk through the castle from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
The maximum number of visitors per day is 4,500 at Gyeongbokgung Palace and 3,500 at Changgyeonggung Palace. The public can book online-only, and seniors aged 65 and over and foreigners can purchase tickets on the spot. The cost is 3,000 won for Gyeongbokgung Palace and 1,000 won for Changgyeonggung Palace.
If you are wearing a hanbok, you will be allowed free admission and must make reservations in advance for a special night view.
Tickets for admission tickets are available for up to 4 tickets per person, and free bookings for people who wearing a hanbok can be purchased up to 2 tickets per person.
