According to the Flixpatrol chart, a global OTT (online video service) ranking chart released on the 2nd, “Squid Game” topped the “Netflix Today’s Top 10 TV Programs” list in 81 countries, including the United States, Finland, Indonesia, Norway, and Japan, excluding only two countries in Denmark and Turkey.
In particular, India, which had been in second place until the previous day, also rose to first place. Denmark and Turkey, which ranked first the previous day, were pushed to second place, but “Squid Game” became the first work to rank first in all countries where Netflix is officially serviced around the world.
Earlier in India, the Indian drama “Kota Factory” topped the list, and “Squid Game” did not rank first. “Kota Factory” is a story about a group of talented students from all over the country gathering in Kota, a city famous for its entrance examination academy, to compete fiercely for admission to prestigious universities.

Ted Sarandos, co-CEO and CCO of Netflix, recently attended the Code Conference 2021 held in the U.S. and evaluated the squid game, saying, “Squid Game, Netflix’s new Korean survival drama, may become the global streaming entertainment giant’s most successful original content ever.”
