1. BTS Pop-up Store(limited)
House of BTS, a BTS pop-up store that opened on October 18 and continues its operations until next year January 5 in Gangnam. According to the press release, House of BTS is an upgraded version of the “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” tour pop-up stores that had launched in the cities of Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, London, and Paris. The store occupies floors B1 to 3F, showcasing a huge selection of all things BTS. The main attractions of the building are the Show Room displaying BTS contents, including music videos, and the official merchandise store selling a wide range of products. The pop-up store’s theme color is pink, matching the color scheme from BTS’ song “Boy With Luv” from the album “Map of the Soul: Persona.”
2. K Star Road
K-Star Road is a special project directed towards overseas visitors looking to immerse themselves into the so-called “Korean Wave”. As the name implies, K-Star Road focuses on “stars” and is a place where one can take a glimpse into the lives of famous K-Pop idols. Whether it be sampling their favorite foods or visiting their favorite shops in Cheongdam-Dong, Sinsadong, or Nonhyeondong, visitors will be able to feel the K-Wave in person. Don’t forget to take a photo with BTS gangnam doll!
3. The MIN’S Cafe
The MIN’s is a café, which the mother of Changmin from the boy band 2AM operates. For the K-Wave fans who come from abroad, there are menus, which are translated into English, Japanese, and Chinese. Through Twitter, the members of the BTS posted a photo update, which they took at The Min’s cafe to show that they frequent Min’s cafe. Let’s go find messages that BTS members wrote about Min’s cafe! During the summer, artisan lemonade and ice cream is served, and, during the winter season, organic teas such as lime tea, lemon-ginger tea, and apple-cinnamon tea, which are all made with love, are some of its popular menu choices.
4. Yoojung Sikdang
Yoojung Sikdang holds a special place in the BTS members’ hearts. It’s one of their regular go-to restaurants after hours of hard practice during the early days of their debut, but it also serves as a reminder of BTS’s humble past for ARMYs. During BTS’s reality show “Rookie King,” the members spoke proudly of the restaurant and its owner who would treat the members as if they were her own sons. RM said, “During vacation, we would even eat two of our meals here.” Suga added, “[The owner’s] food was like my mom’s home-cooked meals.” Although Yoojung Sikdang is famous for its grilled pork belly and wraps, it also offers affordable meals, perfect for Seoul’s lunchtime rush. In every corner of the restaurant, there were banners, stickers, and even a pseudo-shrine for BTS. The restaurant is always packed with ARMYs, workers from nearby offices, and neighborhood regulars.
5. Daeo Bookstore
The Daeo Bookstore is the oldest bookstore in Seoul. Located in the picturesque Seochon Village neighborhood, the store is only a few minutes’ walk from Gyeongbokgung Station. The bookstore also operates a small cafe and visitors are sure to enjoy the unique atmosphere. The bookstore has been used as a filming location for several TV shows and the singer IU shot a music video in front of the store. Daeo Bookstore was visited by BTS RM twice! Take a photo at the very same location where RM took his wonderful shot. On the way to this cafe, you can see Hanoks(Korean traditional houses) and good old pretty street trees, which are also popular among tourists.
6. Big Hit Entertainment (old building)
This old studio of BigHit Entertainment was BTS second home besides their real home from different cities of Korea. On that studio, BTS made a lot of memories there while they were still trainees & until they debuted and through some years had passed. They started from No More Dream. Old BigHit Entertainment studio witnessed everything, especially their hard work even if it’s midnight they still practicing almost 2 hours each time, J-hope, Jimin, & Jungkook took the lead every time. On the wall of this building, you can find the handwriting of Armys all over the world.
7. Star Avenue(Myeong-dong)
An extremely touristy place, but a requirement for your Seoul trip is Star Avenue at Lotte Department Store. If you’re multifandom, you’re in luck, since you can be surrounded by not only BTS, but also TWICE, Super Junior, and EXO as well! Once you get to Star Avenue, you’ll be able to feel as close to them as you can without intruding on their space, via a hand model display! As you can see, V has ridiculously large hands, while Jimin’s hands are just as small as you’d probably think. Although we may not be able to meet them in person, the hand model display serves as a great way for us to feel closer to BTS. Another merit of visiting Star Avenue is that BTS products can be purchased at Myeongdong Underground Shopping Center, which is directly connected to the underground passageway of Star Avenue. Various products such as albums, wall papers, calendars, fans, and photo cards are sold at various stores.
8. Linefriends BT21
The BT21 store and cafe is an obvious destination course for any ARMY, young and old. Although BT21 merchandise can be found in multiple LINE stores around Seoul, the Itaewon flagship store, in particular, is special since this is where Tata, RJ, Chimmy, Cooky, Mang, Shooky, Koya — and space robot Van — all came to life, drawn by the members themselves. The second floor holds a display for BT21 clothes, dolls, accessories, and other goods, while the third floor is the LINE Store’s very own cafe. One portion of the third floor is dedicated to all things BT21, so take all the pictures you want and even sit in the seats BTS sat in while they created these adorable characters!
