TWICE comeback with summer dance music

Nine-member female K-pop act TWICE will return with the release of summertime dance music next month, their agency said Monday.

The single “Dance the Night Away” is set to be put up for streaming at major online music stores on July 9, JYP Entertainment said, releasing a teaser image of the upcoming song.

The image features a summertime camping scene against the backdrop of a starry night. A swim ring, suitcases and other summer camping items in bright colors add a girlish mood to the image.

It is TWICE’s first release since its last EP, “What is Love?” unveiled in early April. The music video of the title track topped local music charts and reached the threshold of 100 million views on YouTube.

The new release follows TWICE’s recent success in Japan. TWICE issued its third Japanese single, “Wake Me Up,” and conducted a four-day tour in Japan from late May to early June.

The Japanese single sold more than 500,000 copies, winning the girl band the Recording Industry Association of Japan’s “Double Platinum.”
