Three Days in Busan - Itinerary Ideas and Must-Try Eats

Hey folks,

I just got back from a long weekend trip to Busan and had an awesome time exploring Korea's second largest city. Wanted to share some of the highlights in case anyone else is planning a visit soon.

We focused our time around Haeundae Beach, Gwangbokro, and Gamcheon Culture Village since those areas seemed to have the most to see and do packed into a short trip. On our first day, we started at Haeundae Beach in the morning to avoid the afternoon sun. The beach is massive and the water was surprisingly warm even so early in the season. Definitely worthwhile to spend a couple hours relaxing in the sand or walking along the boardwalk.

From there, we made our way over to Gwangbokro which is like the main downtown area. So many cute cafes and shops to check out along the walking street. We had tteokbokki from a famous stall there that was super spicy and delicious. In the afternoon, a bus ride took us to Gamcheon Culture Village for some incredible Instagram-worthy views of the colorful houses built into the hillside. Really unique spot!

On day two, we took a city tour bus that made stops all along the coast. The stops included Songdo Beach, Dalmajibang Wharf for seafood, and Seomyeon for the night markets. Probably my favorite meal was crab stew from one of the many street vendors at the markets. So fresh and filling. We capped off the night with desserts at Paris Baguette, the perfect way to end a long day of exploring.

For our last morning, we walked around Taejongdae Resort Park and got amazing views of the coastline and seaside cliffs. It was really peaceful to wander the trails there before catching our train back to Seoul.

Hope this gives you some ideas for a quick Busan trip! Let me know if you have any other questions. The food is seriously so good there so make sure to leave room in your belly for exploring.

When we got to Haeundae Beach in the morning around 8-9am, it wasn't too crowded at all which was nice. There were some other small groups and a few joggers, but definitely not packed like it gets later in the day. We pretty much had our pick of spots on the sand. I'd say mornings are a great time to enjoy the beach without many people. By noon I'm sure it starts filling up more as the heat of the day brings everyone out. Early June should be a good time to visit too - this guide should give you more idea about the city https://gowithguide.com/blog/tourism-in-busan-statistics-2023-the-ultimate-guide-5543

Hope you have a great trip exploring Busan :)

Hey thanks for sharing about your Busan trip! It all sounds so interesting, especially Gamcheon Culture Village - those colorful houses must be a sight. Quick question, when you visited Haeundae Beach in the morning, was it pretty empty then or were there still a lot of people even that early? Trying to get a sense of crowds at different times. Appreciate the tips because I'll be travelling there late june!

That's a great tip about visiting Haeundae Beach early in the morning to avoid the biggest crowds. Having more space on the sand would definitely make it more enjoyable. I can imagine by noon all the best spots would be taken. Early June does seem like a nice shoulder season time to go. Thanks for sharing the guide as well - it's helpful to get an overview of tourism patterns and top activities. Busan looks so beautiful in photos, I can't wait to experience it for myself. Enjoying the beaches without huge crowds will be lovely. I'll have to be sure to get to Haeundae by 9am max to take advantage of the quieter morning time. Really appreciate you sharing your experience and recommendations!
